June 25th

You probably remember it more as the day Michael Jackson died.

But did you know it's also the day that First Lieutenant Brian Bradshaw was killed in Afghanistan? I bet not. I didn't see his name on CNN.

I am so very tired of hearing about Michael Jackson. I'm tired of seeing a US Representative from my home state try to pass a resolution to honor him. I'm tired of seeing him on the news. A moment of silence in the Senate? Really? Yet here we are, still months later rehashing every detail of this child molester's life. To quote the "Reverend" Al Sharpton, "Your daddy wasn't no freak." His use of a double negative could not have been more appropriate.

Was he a good singer? Sure. Was he a great entertainer? Absolutely. But a moment of silence in the halls of government? Really? He was just that--an entertainer. He didn't change the world. He didn't give his life for the betterment of others. He didn't serve a cause greater than himself.

But you know who did? First Lieutenant Brian Bradshaw. Take a few minutes to watch this message from his Aunt. It quickly puts back into perspective what really matters. No televised $4 million dollar funeral, just a town coming together to honor a TRUE hero.

This video came through my email this week, and I immediately knew I had to post it here. My family knows how I feel about MJ. I'm disgusted that people are choosing to remember his "contributions" to music when he very obviously molested little children. To those of you who think he didn't, there's no reason to pay someone off if you are innocent. Go to trial and then demand that they pay your lawyer fees if you are so innocent. That's just an excuse to make him look less freakishly perverted. Okay, I'll get off my soapbox now.

Thank you, First Lieutenant Brian Bradshaw.
