10 Most Fascinating People of 2009

So, tonight on ABC, Barbara Walters did a special about the 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009.
Here is her list. And just for the record, her interviews are getting more and more annoying. She has had WAAAAAY too much facial plastic surgery. And she just needs to tattoo Obama Rocks on her forehead. Ugh. Ahem, back to it.

Lady Gaga: I shouldn't be surprised that she is on the list. This woman is EVERYWHERE. She is definitely an attention whore because of the way she dresses, but I also had no idea that she had 4 number 1 singles on her debut albums. And, in the interview, she actually proved that she does indeed have a brain. Thank goodness.

Jenny Sanford: the "First Lady" of South Carolina. This is the woman whose husband had an affair with a "friend" in Argentina while his family thought he was simply out hiking the Appalachian Trail (which is in NORTH AMERICA, by the way). It was almost hard to watch it... she is still hurting so bad and you can tell. Why do bad things happen to (seemingly) good people? Sad.

Tyler Perry: I LOVE Tyler Perry. He was an African American child of abuse and addiction (by his father) and yet he took his hard life and has made the best out of it. Now, he is Madea. Enough said.

Kate Gosselin: I am pretty tired of her, honestly. Last time I checked, no one MADE her sign that contract with TLC and honestly, if my life were being captured constantly, I would get pissy and lose relationships, too. I'm soooo sick of her saying that her kids are "sick" because there are no cameras around anymore to "capture precious family memories". So annoying.

Adam Lambert: Two words: freaky and inappropriate. Enough said.

Glenn Beck: I really didn't know much about this guy until this show. Apparently he is an outspoken Conservative with a witty sense of humor. He is entertaining at least, although I've never seen his show.

Brett Favre: So, apparently someone who plays football is seen as fascinating. Who knew. Insert sarcasm here.

Sarah Palin: the ONLY person named that has been on the show two years in a row. And, as always, she was candid and wonderful. I'm going to forgive her for sinning so bad and wearing black and blue in the safe outfit. But just this once. I would totally vote for her for President. And, when Barbara tried to turn Katie Couric (read: queen jerkface) on her, she simply said: "oh, there's so much bull crap out there going around". I laughed out loud. Palin 2012. All the way.

Michael Jackson’s three kids: I'm really not impressed with this choice... they are just kids, and they happen to be "fascinating" because they had a freak job for a father.

And the most fascinating person of 2009 was: Michelle Obama... Sigh. Sigh. I don't get it. I should have known that she would be the most fascinating because last year, Barack was. But, as Barbara said... "it's all about your arms". Because, you know... that makes a successful First Lady. What? You mean you didn't know that? I'm shocked!

And now.... Emily's list of the 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009.

My Mom---let's face it... She is Mom of the Year AGAIN. She rules. She should be the most fascinating simply for the fact that she carried me for nine ridiculously long months. Oh, and then they had to CUT her stomach open to get me out. And apparently, her back hurt ALLLLLL the time. What love. :) And I never could have made it through 2009 without her.

Poor Mama... She looks so tired in this picture.
And this picture need an explanation. We were on top of the Stratosphere in Las Vegas, and my dear Momma has an intense fear of heights. She was just a tad bit freaked. That would be why she looks slightly retarded and scared to death.

My Dad---Once again... Father of the Year AGAIN. So generous and loving. Thank God for his humor when Kat (the Phonetic devil herself) made me want to gouge my eyes out. Oh, and he totally hates "the ex" as much as I do and isn't afraid to assure me that should he need to kick his ass, all I need to do is call. And seriously, that 61 year old man could TOTALLY take him. Bring it.

Katie Lee---Best Sister Ever. AGAIN. We didn't go see Celine this year, but I'm not holding that against her this year. But just this once (did you hear that Auntie Katie???). She still got me through this year.

And three cheers for a sister who HELD my head up instead of dropping me on it. Ready? Set? Go! Rah Rah Rah!

Sadie Jane---and no, I'm not crazy, but Sadie is SOOOOO much more than a dog. And once again, I'm not crazy, but Sadiekins knows more than anyone in the world. The best part? She'll never talk. You must live forever, baby doll.
And I should take this time to thank my dear Sadiekins for not bailing on me when "the ex" threw her around the yard like a freakin' rag doll because he was just a selfish jerk. We stayed at my Mom's that night, and she totally could have gone crazy on me but instead, she cuddled up and has licked away countless tears. And thankfully, we are still together.

Celine Dion---Well duh. She is a given. She makes me so so happy.

And yes, we WERE this close to Celine in Houston.

Dirk---For no other reason than that he is 7 feet tall giant of giant beauty. You can come share my bed Dirk. I think it's sexy when your feet hang off the bed.

Sarah Palin---Only because I want her to be President in 2012 and she needs to start getting in the public eye sooner rather than later.
Patrick Dempsey---Well, because he is beautiful. And I would LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE to have his babies. Be still my heart.

Dr. D---My Anatomy teacher this semester. I LOVED his class, and we hit it off from day one. That Yankee vegetarian guy RULES. Oh, and I'm totally his favorite. I can't find a pic of him, so I'll just reference my supa-amazing school.

And the most fascinating person of 2009 is: Jesus Christ. This year has been FULL of up, downs, heartache, fulfillment, disappointment, laughter, betrayal, sleepless nights, amazing victories, tears, hugs, pains... I've been through it ALL. And yet, I've never been closer to Jesus Christ.

Since the new Casting Crowns CD come out in late November, I've been addicted. When I heard this song, I sat in my car and just cried. Sobbed. I felt like I had known that song my entire life. Amazing.
