Glee = Awesomeness

So, anyone who knows me knows that I am a recent Glee addict. (I will admit that I originally thought that the show was dumb, way too corny and just plain annoying. But then, I gave it a chance. It was love at first watch.) My sister may or may not have liked it first. I can't remember. ;)

So, I decided to make a list of 10 reasons that I love Glee. These are in no particular order.

#1---It makes me laugh out loud---literally

The "Single Ladies" football scene proves it. Here it is. Hysterical!

#2---The men are suuuuuper gorgeous

#3---The music is beyond amazing
Some of my favorites are below. You're welcome. :)
Imagine

Somebody to Love

My Life Would Suck Without You

Gives You Hell--it's the ultimate screw you song

Don't Stop Believing

#4---The underlying themes in every episode
It sounds corny, but the kids on the show have real life stories: divorce, rejection, fractured families, teacher issues, betrayal. It's much cornier on Glee, but everyone has felt those things at some point in their lives, making it seem much less fictional (a mark of a GREAT TV show, if you ask me). For a show that focuses so much on comedy and insults, Glee puts a lot of effort into making its characters into real, complicated people.

#5---They have the best antagonist ever: Sue Sylvester
The coach of the Cheerios is ridiculously mean... but absolutely hysterical.

Some of her best lines:
"You may be two of the stupidest teens I've ever encountered - and that's saying something. I once taught a cheerleading seminar to Sarah Palin."
"You two should be wetting yourselves with shame."
"You have enough product in your hair to season a wok."
"I will not stop until your fired and your little glee club is annihilated into oblivion."
"I won't be burying any hatchets, William, unless I get a clear shot to your groin."

#6---Everyone loves a good love triangle!
Will and Terri (the wife from Hades, I might add). Will and Emma. Quinn and Finn. Quinn and Mark. Rachel and Finn. Kurt and Finn. Mercedes and Finn.
Emma and Will better end up together or I will be very angry. They are so cute, and Emma is so much better than Terri (don't even get me started on her; we are NOT friends).

#7---It beat the odds.
The cast was on Oprah last week (yes, I watch it; don't judge me) and she interviewed the executive producer and he admitted that he was so surprised that it has become such a phenomenon. No one thought it would work. But it did! Gotta love that.

#8---It's completely unpredictable.
Sure, some parts of it are plain as day, but who knew that Sue had a mentally handicapped sister? Or that Artie was in a wheelchair because of a car wreck? Or that Sue made enough money as a high school cheerleading coach to have a condo in Boca? Or that Tina didn't really have a stutter, but pretended to because she thought it would make Artie more comfortable (it didn't work, BTW)?

#9---It always puts me in a good mood.
I may or may not have watched the entire first volume of season one a hundred trillion times already. I can't get enough. I find myself singing along and it always makes me happy when I'm watching.

#10---The dancing is spectacular
For a show choir, these kids definitely have some moves, not to mention rhythm I would kill for.

So there you have it. Bottom line is this: Glee is full of awesomeness. :)
