8 x 8 x 8

In honor of August, which is the 8th month (and because my life has been rather boring lately), I decided to fill out this little survey.

Hopefully at some point in the near future, I'll be back with a full recap and review of the first two days of grad school year 2. Not happening today though.

Enjoy :)

8 Songs On My Ipod
1-- Colgando in Tus Manos by Carlos Baute and Marta Sanchez (The song is in Spanish; I heard it for the first time in Mexico. You can find the translation online, but it's basically saying "my heart is trapped in your hands, so be careful. "Cuidado.") I love the beat! And it always reminds me of Mexico, which is always good.

8 Quotes I Love
1-- You don't realize how much you care about someone until they don't care about you.
2-- It's impossible to find someone who will never hurt you, so go for the one who's worth all the pain.
3-- A couple of hundred years ago, Benjamin Franklin shared with the world the secret of his success. Never leave that till tomorrow, he said, which you can do today. This is the man who discovered electricity. You think more people would listen to what he had to say. I don't know why we put things off, but if I had to guess, I'd have to say it has a lot to do with fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, sometimes the fear is just of making a decision, because what if you're wrong? What if you're making a mistake you can't undo? The early bird catches the worm. A stitch in time saves nine. He who hesitates is lost. We can't pretend we hadn't been told. We've all heard the proverbs, heard the philosophers, heard our grandparents warning us about wasted time, heard the damn poets urging us to seize the day. Still sometimes we have to see for ourselves. We have to make our own mistakes. We have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep today's possibility under tomorrow's rug until we can't anymore. Until we finally understand for ourselves what Benjamin Franklin really meant. That knowing is better than wondering, that waking is better than sleeping, and even the biggest failure, even the worst, beat the hell out of never trying. ~~Grey's Anatomy
4-- Everyone says you don't know what you would say if you had a gun to your head and had to decide between Christ and your own life unless you were in that situation. I just wonder...how could I not choose Christ? How could I deny everything I've placed my faith, dreams, hopes and life in? But then, Peter denied his closest friend three times, and his life wasn't even in danger. I would hope it would be second nature to side with my Creator...my existence. I say make a decision now what you would say if placed in that situation and don't waiver. Don't settle. He didn't when He chose you.
5-- After 24 years, I can sum up everything I've learned about life thus far: it goes on.
6-- You make the choices you make based on what you know about the world. And sometimes the world will turn around and break your heart. But other times, love saunters in and changes everything.
7-- At the end of the day faith is a funny thing. It turns up when you don't really expect it. Its like one day you realize that the fairy tale may be slightly different than you dreamed. The castle, well, it may not be a castle. And its not so important happy ever after, just that its happy right now. See once in a while, once in a blue moon, people will surprise you , and once in a while people may even take your breath away. ~~Grey's Anatomy
8-- Anyone can give up. It's the easiest thing in the world to do. But, to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart... that's true strength.
